South Australia

We Didn't take many photos while we in South Australia - spent alot of time driving around the different suburbs of Adelaide trying to get a feel. But I did manage a few photos!

And of course, the obligatory "small town - large statue" found all across Australia!

Around Sydney - The Flying Foxes

Still in Sydney, we have 1 week to go before heading back to Adelaide to give it a go!

I've had a chance to take some photos of the "Flying Foxes" - australian fruit bats! And a huge colony has set up in the botanical gardens!

Thanks to my zoom lens, I've been able to take some decent photos of them!

Driving in the Outback

Hi, we Had a chance to take a video the Drive we made while up in Queensland.

Don't worry about the lack of sound, as we took the video on our old digital point and shoot, which doesn't have a microphone!

This is a stretch of the road out to Chillagoe (nb probably not the right spelling) - in Australia's Far North Queensland!

Sydney at Sunset

Found myself walking around the Harbour, and managed to get a few photos of the sun going down. I'd like to say I was alone, but it seems 1/2 the tourists in the city were sharing the moment with me!

Off the Grid

Hi there!

A short return to the modern world after my recent 'off grid adventures'.

Have been travelling all over the countryside Leyland Brothers style.

The whole cheap airfares thing must be one of the best things that has happened in the time I've been away...sadly heating your house hasn't been revolutisined and we have spent many a cold night even the Canadian has been suffering and lets face it that's saying something ......new career perhaps .........always wanted to be a double glazing sales man.

Enjoyed Cairns the best bit seeing my younger brother completely wrapped around teh tiny finger of his beautiful new daughter ...go girl.

Adelaide has been great and will certainly provide that change of lifestyle i've been harping on about for the last 3 years or so ..........so its back to Sydney and the serious stuff of life ...how dull.

My First Kangaroo!

It was 4:01 pm on the 21st of June - while driving around the Adelaide hills, I saw my first WILD (and not road kill or in a petting zoo) Kangaroo! We were just driving along, and on the side of the road were two of them. As I was doing 110 kmp/h I couldn't stop and take a photo of this momentous occasion - so I've "borrowed" a kangaroo picture from the web - call it artistic license!

...Adelaide Airport

Well, we've just finished a week here in Adelaide.

We both quite liked it. The City seems to be big enough to get jobs, but small enough that your never more than 30mins from where you want to be! And after the hussle of London for so many years, it is nice to be able to walk down the main shopping street crowded shoulder to shoulder with everyone else!

The next step will be to find a place to live, and search for jobs! But first back to Sydney to collect our stuff!

Hopefully we will be online again soon! I've got lots of photos and stories!

Out of Contact!

Well, it has been hard to find an internet cafe to get much blogging done!

We are still keeping busy with all our travels. Been taking plenty of Photos, and even some video of the drive through the remote parts of far north queensland! Sadly, eveybody will have to wait longer before we can share the stories and photos of our adventures!

We are now back in Syndey, looking to buy a car, before we head south to Melbourne and Adelaide!

Hope to be able to blog again soon!
